2017 | July Favorites

I don't know why this month's favorite features a banner filled with sunny side up eggs but....I still think it's an adorable picture so why not use it, right? Right. But we're not here to talk about eggs; we are here to talk about my list of favorites before this month is over so let's go.

The Body Shop almond milk & honey body lotion

I saw this coming, even before I purchased the product. I was easily sold the moment I saw this range, as seen from this post, and I've been loving it ever since. I have been using this body lotion every single day and night and I'm almost out of it! I am beyond obsessed and I will definitely repurchase this when I'm completely out of it.

Innisfree eco tint balm in Garden Balsam

I never really loved lip tints just like how I never loved lip glosses....until I discovered this really easy and practical product that adds some peachy coral color to my everyday 'lazy, no makeup-just-concealer' face. I sort of treat this as a tinted lip balm instead of a stain or tint because it's really subtle unless I really pile it up — which I do because I want pigment on my lips. People who enjoy a more intense lip stain probably wouldn't enjoy this but I personally like it though I believe this is definitely not the best lip tint.

Organic Supply montmorillonite clay

Also know as bentonite clay, it has healing properties and can be used on wounds, cuts and burns, scratches and bug bites; psoriasis, dermatitis / eczema to draw out poison and speed up healing process. I heard that it can also minimize fine lines, sun damage and aging spots but I wouldn't know since I don't have aging skin. For all its listed benefits, I find that it actually helps reduce the inflammation of my acne and definitely makes my face as smooth as a baby's butt.

Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless #125 nude beige

I am back to falling in love with this product again! I bought this a few months ago but stopped using it because I prefer The Body Shop's Fresh Nude foundation for its semi-matte, glowy natural finish. But, ever since my skin broke out around my mouth and nose, I relied on the fit me foundation's medium coverage and satin finish, perfect to cover up redness and blemishes.

Caraval by Stephanie Garber

I finished this book in less than a week (or was it five days? I'm not sure) and I can't wait for the sequel! It's just sooo entertaining! The pace keeps you wanting more and the story, the story is lovely. Some people have been comparing this to Erin Morgenstern's Night Circus and I totally get the vibe but Caraval's story is completely different than the former. Caraval's pace is also quicker than Night Circus, making it feel more adventurous and exciting. I gave it a solid 4/5 and I think everyone who loves magical realism and fantasy should try this book.

Buzzfeed Unsolved

My boyfriend told me about this series and I have been hooked ever since. They have two versions, Buzzfeed Unsolved where they investigate supernatural cases and Buzzfeed Unsolved: True Crime where they discuss about real crime cases. My favorite episode from True Crime was when they talked about the infamous Zodiac Killer whose identity remains unknown until today. I think it's the most disturbing crime cases, if not one of the most. I don't know how this defines me but I love reading into crime cases and I always want to know more.

Shadowhunters season 2

Surprise surprise, I actually enjoy this show. I don't like The Mortal Instruments books because I hate Clary and how much of a special snowflake plain Jane she is but the tv series is actually enjoyable enough to keep me watching. It's definitely not the best or a perfect tv show but I'm running out of things to watch and I think Shadowhunters is not THAT bad. I also love the actors they cast for Izzy and Alec because Emeraude and Matthew are just (((heart eyes.jpg)))

Dunkirk

I'm a fan of Christopher Nolan and this movie does not disappoint at all. I won't go into spoilers but I really love how it was directed, how the story was divided into three parts and as the movie goes, you start to realize how the three of them are connected. I personally love the way this movie delivers the sequence timeline for each scene. As much as some websites or reviewers complain and bitch about this movie (I mean come on, it's a war movie based on real life event and this is not a story about the entire war but rather, only a part of it! Plus, this is a movie about survivors trying to survive and not about the war so why would you expect lots of gunfire and actions!!!1!!!), I'm going to give this movie a solid 9/10. I don't care what people say, I love Dunkirk and I think it's an awesome job well done. It's definitely not replacing Inception as my ultimate fave but it's an absolute must watch in my opinion.

That's it for my July favorites! What have you been loving this month?
